We went for a couple of short day hikes to one of the local spots in Bryson City, Deep Creek. It wasn’t warm enough at the time to go tubing. Maybe later on in the summer, we can GoPro down on our tubes so you can see what it’s like. The water is shallow and very cold, so you have to catch it just right between good rains and really hot days. Besides tubing, there is horse back riding and hiking. We traveled the first day to Juney Whank Falls on the short but all uphill trail.
The next trip we walked the short trail to see Tom Branch Falls and Indian Creek Falls. It was after a really good rain, so they were all flowing good. Deep Creek is a fun place in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for picnics, tubing, day hikes, and lots of fun….FREE. Unless you need to rent a tube or want to go camping, then it costs a minimal fee. We have our own tubes, so we come here whenever we just want a different view other than the river in our backyard. It’s a great place for the whole family and you can hike in your flip flops here. (Just watch out for sticks).
We also made a short little YouTube video of our second trip. If you’re not already subscribers, we’d love for you to do so. Click the link below to check it out:
